Welcome to the thirtieth Music Highlights post!

From this post, I will no longer numbering Music Highlights posts. The main reason is that I don't feel like writing about new music that much anymore, and if you're watching my Favorite Music playlist, regularly, I add more older music than newer ones. This is also reflected in today's number of songs that is much less than usual.

It's been a good run, however, and I still wanted to do music-related stuff in the future, so stay tuned! As for this blog, the future is still uncertain. The one thing for sure, it is not going away. It will take a while for me to think about what I wanted to write next, though.

Now, let's talk about music!

#1: Tokyo Bug Night

Moe Shop returned to Denonbu once again! Tokyo Bug Night once again served as the homepage song after a long reign of Kabuki with emeth. Like all Shian Moe Shop songs, this is super groovy (and I think closer to good night baby than Eat Sleep Dance). What surprised me the most, however, is in the production details. Moe Shop showed off their modular synthesizer setup, and I am absolutely, absolutely floored.

#2: BUTA

BUTA, another bouncy track from Akai Haato and composed by Tomonori Hayashibe, is quite interesting to me. My last contact with Tomonori Hayashibe music is... basically K-pop, so the return to bouncy, happy music is refreshing.

#3: 刹那の誓い(feat.由崎司)

The first season of Tonikaku Kawaii unexpectedly brought Yunomi to write its opening song, and the second season brought Neko Hacker to write its opening song. Is the production committee a Jingumae Sandou High School fan? That combination of artists aside, Setsuna no Chikai floored me so much. While Yunomi basically did Hyper Bass light mode for the first season's opening, this song reminds me of their "study result" that is After the Rain, and one of their best songs to date.

#4: にゃんぼりーdeモッフィー!!

Gee, who let Neko Hacker have two opening songs in one season. Oh, so that's why Neko Hacker is involved in this cat-themed song. Cats. Just look at that thumbnail, having DIALOGUE+ members becoming catgirls. Did I mention DIALOGUE+ yet? They made quite the appearances in earlier Music Highlights post, and now they're cats. While this isn't Neko Hacker alone in the music, the guitar is surely Neko Hacker.

#5: 天使は何処へ

"Wait a moment, this is Kijibato???" is the first thing I saw from this song from NOT EQUAL ME. Yes, the idol group. I know Kijibato joined Dream Monster a while ago, but, wow, NOT EQUAL ME? EDM in my idol group? More likely than you think. I live for that bass house section.

#6: SUPERSONIC

Lastly, literally one of the names I wanted in Denonbu. For their Denonbu song, Yuta Imai opted for Euphoric Frenchcore. I knew Yuta Imai songs from SOUND VOLTEX and other BEMANI games, but in a media mix franchise? Intriguing. Fun fact: the lyricist of this song is the same as the Tatsunoshin Shibuya songs, even more intriguing.

Lastly, thank you everyone who followed this series from the first post back in 2020, when the pandemic is at its height, to the last post today. See you next time.

Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator

I write about an Atelier series mobile game, Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. How does it adopts the Atelier formula, and how well the game adopts it?

Snowbreak: Containment Zone

I write about a mobile/PC game that I tried recently, Snowbreak: Containment Zone. A third-person shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world, how does this game fare?
